Google has just posted the new factory images with February’s security patch for Nexus devices. The images are still based on Android 6.0.1, so don’t expect anything besides security fixes. There’s also a new factory image for the Pixel C which missed getting January’s security patch.
The February security bulletin lists fixes for 10 security bugs found by the Android and Chrome security teams and other independent researchers. The severity of the bugs ranges from moderate to critical. A majority of the vulnerabilities deal with Wi-Fi drivers that would allow remote code execution, though Google notes that there are no reports of customers who have been affected by these issues.
It took about a week for last month’s update to start rolling out. Those who don’t want to wait for the OTA can download the factory images below:

- Nexus 5X
- Nexus 6
- Nexus Player
- Nexus 9 (LTE)
- Nexus 9 (Wi-Fi)
- Nexus 5
- Nexus 7 2013 (Wi-Fi)
- Nexus 7 2013 (Mobile)
If you need help flashing factory images, check out our guide here. Keep in mind that flashing your device will wipe any data on it. For most users, this is not worth the hassle and waiting for the OTA would be the wiser option. OEMs like HTC, Samsung, and NVIDIA have rolled out updates with last month’s security patch.
